Aliquot has been providing civil engineering and surveying services for this 20-acre facility for the past 30 years, including civil engineering design improvement plans, topographic and utility survey services, ALTA, and boundary surveys. Extensive drainage studies and storm drain infrastructure design were needed on almost every project. Creek realignment and extension was completed as part of the recent Veterinary Building project. New ADA pathways were designed throughout the facility including the parking area situated in hilly topography.
The currently under-construction California Trail expansion has added 56-acres to the Oakland Zoo and roughly 16 acres of that land is on a hilltop that required compliance to C.3 treatment and flow control. Land Surveying services include topographical mapping, construction staking, boundary surveying, control surveying, easement plot preparation, and hydrology. Civil Engineering services include site design, entitlement process for CEQA and approved development planning, hydrology, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (C3) design, utilities coordination, and value engineering.
Aliquot has provided civil design for many of the zoo's exhibits, including the elephant, panda, chimpanzee, and lion exhibits. Civil design services were also provided for the African Village, Primate Island, Administration building, train station and tracks, educational complex, entrance gate, and parking lot.
